weaving collection fabrics 3
Here are the images of the process of weaving this warp,a few samples I was able to make from the warp and just a tester image of how I might style the fabric once I have wet finished and properly show the context of my weaving. I had a little trouble with the right edge as it seems to be with all of warps recently as I the over manpulation puts stress on that side as well as issue with tension on the loom.

Collection fabric 3 set up..
I finished my second collection warp and have moved on to the the 3rd fabric. I had run out of some of the colours and in my palette and did some very quick dyeing which I forgot to photograph. But, I did get images of the cone winding process along with the rest of the warp set up. I had made a few mistakes while dyeing and the colour where not as I would have hoped they came out, but this was because I stayed very late and did not take the time to measure out the correct quantities of dye. But I've really learned this year to just work with what I've got. But on the other hand the colours I did get complimented my collection of cones in the end.

Collection fabrics 2
I have finally finished my second warp for collection. And it was a very long process in which I had many problems with when weaving including broken threads all the way along one side of the fabric, but its still looks presentable. I am quite happy with the way it turned out in the end despite all the trouble, and I found the the transparent monofliament wire I have used creates a very beautiful effect when the natural sunlight passes through. Luckily I was able to get a few pictures of this effect which really relates quite closely to my inspired images. (finally)

Setting up collection 2
I jumped right back in after weaving last week with a new idea I came up with over the weekend. I would be drawing inspiration of some the paler colour palettes in my imagery and create a different colourway in this warp for to add to the collection. I enjoyed winding and setting up this warp as it was quite straight forward and I really like the colours.

Collection fabrics 1
Here are the images of my latest fabrics. I plan to present as part of my collection and could make good use for interior purposes. It has a very good weight to the fabric and the colours complement each other well. I have had a tutorial in this past week and have been encouraged to work bigger and exaggerate some of the key elements in my sample ideas that really work well and keep experimenting..

Collection weaving
Its the 1st week back and I have made some really good progress with my weaving. I managed to set up and start weaving in one day. Which could mean that I could potientally weave 2 more warps before the end of the course which is 3 weeks from now. I am proud of what I have done so far, I am a little sad to think this is due to be one of the last fabrics I will make and I really want to make something I am really proud of. I will be sure to post images of the finished pieces later on this week.

Visiting The Design Museum
Over Easter I had the opportunity to visit the design museum and view the collection of finalists for the 2015 designs of the year. It was a very varied exhibit and I primarily was focused on the limited range of textiles there on display. I found that the exhibit altogether had some very interesting and very creative projects, for which you could vote on the winner at the end of the viewing. I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I arrived there but I was a little taken back by the crowd that was there on the day. I do think I was a little disappointing in the range of textiles, I saw on display but never the less I enjoyed the visit and had a great incite into understanding the value of good design and the designers who are always trying to strive forward as innovators.
